WRITE-ACT is a new collaborative project hosted and run by Devon-based artists Sara Hurley and Lucy Lepchani.
Working within schools and with youth groups from Key Stage 2 and above, we offer a range of off-the-peg workshops which can also be tailored to suit the specific needs of schools and youth and community groups.
Our aims are:
- to provide arts-based educational experiences that enhance and expand existing learning opportunities;
- to provide sessions for young learners to become creators rather than consumers;
- and to expand specific cultural knowledge, attitudes, and perspectives.
With a Write-Act project in your school or classroom, learners can participate as co-creators in a range of literacy and performance projects, including:
- writing and devising collaborative scripts for performance
- producing and performing original plays
- devising and writing stories to tell
- writing poetry for performance, and performance skills
Both Sara and Lucy write and perform within their own arts practices, and have worked within a broad range of educational and community settings over many years.
